Teaching turned into a commission
Freelance design for the academy, grown out of teaching: visual identity, events and publications.
Because the work I produced with the students was seen around the academy, the question came whether I could take on other things as well. Over the years that became the freelance design work for AMD.
The visual identity. Not a redesign but a revision: with the recognition as a state academy the requirements had changed. Developed together with AMD's various institutions across all locations. A colleague, also a lecturer and designer, joined; together with a working student we produced the three brochures that carry the identity.
Events and publications. NEXT, the annual fashion show. The summer camp during the semester break. Plus numerous other communication materials, the website and the students' graduation books. I steered this work, almost always with students supporting, and we made it print-ready together.
On top of that came projects with students on digital publishing. Broad in range, but visual communication at its core.
