Editorial design for Germany's first WIRED, focused on digital publishing: content as rich content for iPad. Alongside that ran the classic art department work.
Editorial design for Germany's first WIRED, and translating that content into rich, interactive iPad editions.
As part of the art department I designed the editorial for Germany's first WIRED, focused on bringing the content to life for digital publishing on iPad.

The real work began earlier, in print: laying out content so that it could move later. Images were cut apart for compositing so they could build up layer by layer. A map grew slowly into view. In the article on people, apps and traffic, vehicles in a paper-cut look drove across the page with sound. Long reading passages stayed what they were. We tried a lot and used little: whatever made no sense or did not carry never made the issue.

The bridge between editorial design and digital publishing.
